In June 2015 Zara, her husband and two sons will come to Germany as refugees. There are various indications of domestic violence. Neighbours inform the authorities, as does the school of the sons. Social workers visit the family and are sure that there will be no more violence in the future.

On June 16, 2016, Zara's husband will slit her throat. The two sons are at school at the time of the crime. A neighbour finds the bloody corpse in the corridor. An emergency doctor can't save her.

The murder weapon, a kitchen knife, is confiscated, the perpetrator is arrested. The children are taken into the care of the youth welfare office.

In February 2017, the regional court in Wuppertal sentences the perpetrator to 11 years in prison. The names of the perpetrators and victims are not known.
