Shadi and her husband are from Iran. They have a 5-year-old son and a 2-month-old daughter, apply for asylum and live in an apartment in Castrop-Rauxel. Sometimes Shadi lives with the baby in the women's shelter. Two proceedings are brought against the husband.

Shadi wants a divorce. On 12 November 2016, the two of them will meet for a talk at a friend's house in Dortmund. Probably with the result that the husband does not accept it.

When the two go back to the station with the pram, the man stabs his wife on the public street. Witnesses try to stop him. Shadi dies in hospital. A few hours later, the perpetrator is arrested. The baby is placed in a foster family.

The lawsuit will start in April 2017 at the District Court of Dortmund. In July, Mycim is sentenced to 11 years and 6 months imprisonment for manslaughter.
