Ivana is a cleaning lady and together with the 10 year younger Kevin from Weinstadt. He works for a food producer. They split up.

On July 4, 2019 Ivana meets her ex-boyfriend. On July 8, 2019 her employer reports her missing. A public manhunt is started. 2 days later, the body is found in a bush on the banks of the Rems. Ivana died of "excessive violence to the head and neck".

Kevin reports to the police and is taken into custody. His origin is unknown. The name sounds like an English first name, a German last name. On the basis of his police photo one would rather suspect the Middle East as his origin. The investigation service says that he has "foreign connections". The case is unclear, we would be happy with tips!

What is an honour killing?

An honour killing is a murder in the name of honour. If a brother murders his sister to restore family honour, it is an honour killing. According to activists, the most common reasons for honour killings are as the victim:

refuses to cooperate in an arranged marriage.
wants to end the relationship.
was the victim of rape or sexual assault.
was accused of having a sexual relationship outside of marriage.

Human rights activists believe that 100,000 honour killings are carried out every year, most of which are not reported to the authorities and some are even deliberately covered up by the authorities themselves, for example because the perpetrators are good friends with local policemen, officials or politicians. Violence against girls and women remains a serious problem in Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Iran, Serbia and Turkey.
