Honour killing story

Sebahat K.
born: 1973
Killed/stabbed: 12 February 2011
Last residence: Rosenheim
Origin: Turkey
Children: 2 (8 and 17 years)
Perpetrator: her ex-husband Tamer (42 years)
In June 2010, Sebahat and Tamer will separate. They have two underage children. Tamer works in a snack bar. After the divorce he threatens his ex-wife and beats her up several times. In March 2011 he is convicted of assault. He is threatened with deportation to Turkey.

On February 12, 2011 at 3.30 am Sebahat comes home and wants to change for her job in a bakery. She gets out of the car, the perpetrator hits her with a bat. He kicks her, screams that she must die, sticks a kitchen knife in her torso five times and strangles her with a ribbon twisted out of a pair of tights. Then he shoves the dying woman under a car in the backyard.

Because Sebahat does not come to work, colleagues call the police at 10 o'clock. The cops find the body.

On the same day, her ex-husband is arrested by mobile phone tracking in a wooded area and confesses to the crime. As a motive, he indicates that his ex-wife started a new relationship after the divorce.

In August 2011, Tamer was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder by the regional court of Traunstein. In March 2012, the Federal Supreme Court authorizes the revision of the defense. The case will be reviewed as of September 2012. The now 18-year-old daughter testifies that her father was often violent: against the mother, against the daughters and probably also against a new partner. In December, the verdict - life imprisonment for murder - will be confirmed.
