Oulad is from Morocco and has a Spanish passport. In 2003 she married the Iraqi Abdul, who has lived in Munich since 1998. The two have two girls and a son. Abdul works at a bar, loses his job in 2009 and no longer works. Oulad works as a cleaner in a hotel.

In 2013, Oulad files a complaint against her husband for domestic violence, but withdraws it.

On May 7, 2015, Abdul beats his wife and stabs her with a kitchen knife. The two daughters are at school at the time of the crime, the boy may have to look at the deed. The offender calls the police. The police interpret the numerous stitches in the head and neck as a sign of anger. It can also be seen as a sign of ritualistic murder: The victim is slaughtered.

The trial before the Court of Appeal in Munich will begin in March 2016. According to the Public Prosecutor's Office, the offender has a "worldview in which women are subject to men and must show respect". The sentence cannot be found. In reports, the victim is sometimes called Oulad, sometimes Aicha, the perpetrator Abdul or Saheb.
