Honour killing story

Mara
Born: 1968
killed: 18 July 2016
Location: St. Georgen (Black Forest)
Origin: Serbia
Children: 2 common and 1 from a previous relationship
Perpetrator: her ex-husband (59 years)
Nothing much is known about this case: the perpetrator is a Serb who came to Germany at the age of 13. He does not follow any vocational training and has now retired earlier. Nationality and name of the woman are not known. She probably works as a nurse. She brings a child into the marriage. The couple will have 2 more children together.

Shortly before the crime the woman divorces, presumably she moves from the communal home in Villingen-Schwenningen nearby St. Georgen, presumably with a new partner (56 years).

On July 18, 2016, the perpetrator drives to his ex-wife and hits her in the face 35 times with a hammer. Because she had worked the night shift, she still sleeps in the morning. Her daughter (or her new partner) finds the body a few hours later.

The perpetrator is arrested the same day in his apartment. He has inflicted injuries on himself and is undergoing surgery.

In January 2017 the lawsuit starts before the District Court of Constance. The charge is murder. The accused claims that he cannot remember the crime. However, he was divorced from his wife in Serbia, where it was cheaper. The new partner reports on the suspect's control mania, stalking and earlier abuse of the woman.

In February, the perpetrator is sentenced to life imprisonment for murder.
