Honour killing story

Jolin S. and her unborn child
born: 1991
stabbed to death: 5 February 2013
Residence: Wiesbaden
Provenance: Victim: German-American; Perpetrator: Afghanistan
Children: she was pregnant
Perpetrator: her boyfriend Isa Sh. (23 years)
The 23-year-old student Isa was born in Germany, his family comes from Afghanistan. Since the end of 2011 he is together with legal assistant Jolin.

On February 5, 2013, he stabs his partner, who is 3 months pregnant and is expecting a child from him, at her front door. Jolin and the unborn child die in hospital. The perpetrator flees into his father's car.

In custody, Isa tells a fellow inmate that he had to keep the relationship a secret from his parents. The parents would never have accepted a child with a Christian woman. So he asked Jolin to terminate the pregnancy and threatened, "If you don't do it, I'll kick it out of your belly." The fellow inmate reports that Isa was convinced that the crime could not be proven against him. He was smarter than the police.

After the crime, the brother and father of the perpetrator were probably also arrested. How the story of these two continues is unclear.

In October the trial will start before the District Court of Wiesbaden. The accused remains silent. The murder weapon has not yet been found. The defense tries to attribute the crime to Jolin's ex-boyfriend Ramin. But he was at the dentist at the time of the crime.

In March 2014, Isa will be sentenced to life imprisonment, but without any particularly serious guilt being established. The newspaper speaks of a "cultural discount", the world speaks of a culture bonus.

In September 2015, the Federal Supreme Court rejects the appeal of the Public Prosecutor's Office and the defence.
